In this project my goal was to take a photograph and create a digital illustration.
I wanted to do more than just illustrate the person, though. I set out to give the character more emotion and movement through shading and by highlighting the subtle nuances in skin tone.
Capturing the emotions being projected through the eyes was something I wanted to make central in this project so I focused on detailing around the persons eyes. I transformed the green hues in the background to blue and enhanced the brown tones of the skin to create a contrast between the scenery and the subject.
